[랭크5=고현 기자] Claudia Diaz is looking for redemption after dropping a decision to Jenelyn Olsim last October at ONE Warrior Series 3 in her professional debut.

During the first round, the Spanish striker faced adversity when she broke her hand which ultimately altered the course of the result she envisioned. Fortunately, she avoided surgery and needed ten weeks of inactivity and rehabilitation to heal and get back to training.

Now, she returns at ONE Warrior Series 5 against another tough competitor Kristy Obst from Australia. This intriguing matchup will go down on April 25 in Singapore and will be available LIVE for free on the ONE Super App.

On location in Phuket, John Hyon Ko of Kumite TV spoke with Diaz about her professional debut, recovering from injury, running training camp alongside Bi Nguyen and more.

Notable excerpts from the interview:

John Hyon Ko: "Let's go into your last fight, your pro debut. ONE Warrior Series, last October. Talk about that fight and how you felt about your performance."

Claudia Diaz: "I think in this fight I don't do my best. Because in my first minute I broke my hand. So I know I have many mistakes for training. I cannot show everything, what I have because [hand] make me get a little bit of stress, pain."

John Hyon Ko: "How helpful was it to have [Bi Nguyen] with you?"

Claudia Diaz: "She showed me a lot of things and she is very good motivation, too. Because she is very nice and I tried to be a good partner for her and was a very nice partner for me too."

John Hyon Ko: "How much do you think you have improved since the last fight, since last October?"

Claudia Diaz: "I think....now I am very better in jiu-jitsu, in my wrestling and my standing up is better too. Because when you fight and you see a lot of mistakes and you go and you work on this. And I work a lot from this last fight and I think I am a little bit better than before."
